BUFLA General Assembly Meeting Location:

Details of BUFLA General Assembly Meeting:

During the last 3 General Body meetings of BUFLA on May 20, June 24, and July 22, 2007, (covered in this Minutes), the primary item on the Agenda was the discussion on the BUFLA Constitution. Various people representing various different organizations attended these General Body meetings. The discussion on Constitution actually started in the General Body meeting on April 29, 2007.
So, during the last 4 months, there were very detail and extensive discussion on the BUFLA
Constitution in the 4 General Body meetings. Many of the Paragraphs, Sentences and Words of the draft Constitution were analyzed, discussed, and lot of times changed and modified. The latest version of the Constitution is copied below, which will go for Vote on August 26, 2007 for Ratification. Only the BUFLA- EC members will be eligible to vote.

Some details of the Ratification process will be given in the Meeting notice for August 26, 2007.

BUFLA Executive Committee Meeting Location:

Details of BUFLA Executive Committee Meeting:

1. About 40 people attended this meeting representing various different
Organizations from the list of 57 Organizations.
2. The Unity Celebration Day “Action committees” made their
presentations for Bangladesh day celebration.
3. A motion was passed recommending every organization to contribute
$100, plus donation of $400, making it a minimum total payment of
$500 to BUFLA for the Bangladesh day.
4. BUFLA is now recorded in the LA County Hall of Records.
5. BUFLA bank account was opened at Bank of America on 2-13-2007, and the Account number is:
000991-122000661-09935-66120.
6. The Mtg ended at 5:00 PM
7. Next meeting is on March 11, 2007, Sunday starting at 2 PM at Shatto.

BUFLA Executive Committee Meeting Location:

Details of BUFLA Executive Committee Meeting:

1. About 40 people attended this meeting representing various different
Organizations from the list of 57 Organizations.
2. The LA City Council approved an amendment to the previous motion, to include the Bangladesh day
parade on the main road (on Harvard Blvd between 3rd Street and 6th Street, right infront of
Swadesh
Restaurnt) in Los Angeles.
3. A motion was passed as follows: Every Organization will pay the
Parade Registration fee of $100, plus we expect a minimum of $400 or
more as donation from each organization.
4. The Organizations paying $100 can participate in the Parade. The
Organizations paying $500 or more are the “Decision making Host”
Organizations.
5. BUFLA bank account was opened at Bank of America on 2-13-2007, and the Account number is:
000991-122000661-09935-66120.
6. Varioous organizations contributed a total of $3,500 in this meeting, along with additional
pledge.
7. The Mtg ended at 5:30 PM.
8. Next meeting is on March 18, 2007, Sunday starting at 2 PM at Shatto.

4. Next General Body meetings are on December 9, 2007, January 13, 2008 and January 27, 2008. All General Body meetings are at Shatto starting at 2 PM.

Seminar on March 29, 2008, Saturday, and Parade on March 30,
2008, Sunday, followed by Cultural programs. Stage performance and booths on both days.
5. Next BUFLA meetings are on January 6, 2008, and January 20,
2008 (Sundays starting at 2 PM).

5. The next Parade is on March 30, 2008. The parade will start at Shatto, and will end at Shatto
via Shatto place, 6th Street, Vermont and 4th Street.
6. The Bangladesh Day celebration with Parade is now being prepared for a 2 days event, with
Seminar on March 29, 2008, Saturday, and Parade on March
30, 2008, Sunday, followed by Cultural programs. Stage performance and

Details of BUFLA Executive Committee Meeting:

1. About 17 people attended this meeting.
2. Designated seatings with labels were continued in this mtg for the
organizational representatives and for the Media/Press personnel.
3. An action was taken for disruptive behaviour in the meeting.
4. Only the Finance item was discussed from the list of Action items. The budget is $57K.
5. The parade will start at Shatto parking lot, and then it will proceed southward along the
Shatto place, then right on 6th Street, right on Vermont Ave, right on the 4th Street, and then
back to Shatto. This year, the Bangladesh day Parade route will be twice as long compared to last
year, and 2 major roads of Los Angeles will be shutdown this year for this parade including the 6th
Street, and the Vermont Ave along the Parade route.
6. The Bangladesh Day celebration with Parade is now being prepared for a 2 days event, with
Seminar on March 29, 2008, Saturday, and Parade on March 30, 2008, Sunday, followed by Cultural programs. Stage performance and booths on both days.
7. Next BUFLA meetings are on February 3, and February 17 (Sundays
starting at 2 PM).
